Imperial Stormtrooper
When we were presented with the opportunity to build costume pieces for the film “Rogue One” we were also tasked with building 16 fully wearable Stormtrooper suits. Based on the request and the feedback after sending the first suit (too shiny, the magnets on the shins are ingenious but not necessary) we assumed that we would see the suits in the film. But to our disappointment they did not end up in the production and they went a completely different way with the design. We don’t know for sure if that was the intent for the batch but it is a curiosity. That first suit that we built is shown here, including our magnet closure design for the shin guards. The exciting fact about this kit is its lineage to an original screen used kit. Because it was originally created by hand it has somewhat of an organic look to it which gives it some wonderful asymmetrical “tells” coming from the original clay sculpt.
